HEALTH bosses have declined to comment on press coverage speculating on the contents of the long-awaited Francis Inquiry final report into the failings in care at Stafford Hospital.
Pre-emptive articles in the national press have focused on the likely measures to come out of the report by Sir Robert Francis QC.
A spokesman for the Inquiry said: “We will announce on the Inquiry website when we have done so, and, in due course, a publication date for the report.
“We will not be commenting on any press reports about what may or may not be in the report in the meantime.”
She said the Inquiry report had not yet been delivered to the Secretary of State for Health, Jeremy Hunt.
“Drafts of the report have not, and will not, be circulated outside of the Inquiry team,” she added.
