POLICE are appealing for help in tracing suspected stolen jewellery after three Stone charity shops were raided on the same night.

The break-ins happened at Cancer Research, British Heart Foundation and Age UK overnight between Thursday, February 21, and Friday, February 22.

There was also a break-in at solicitors Crick and Mardling, where nothing was stolen, and an attempted break-in at the Donna Louise Trust store.

Police are currently investigating and urging anyone with information to come forward. They have issued pictures of seized items including a gold rocking horse charm, silver bracelet with clear stones and a ladies’ yellow gold necklace.

Investigating officer PC Chris Moss said: “We have seized a number of items of jewellery which we suspect to be stolen property.

“However, we would like to hear from anyone who recognises the items as ones they have recently donated to the charity shops.”

Three men, two men aged 28 and a 35-year-old, all from Stoke-on-Trent, have been arrested on suspicion of burglary and released on bail pending further inquiries.

Anyone with any information is asked to contact PC Chris Moss at Staffordshire Police on 101, quoting incident number 111 of February 22. Alternatively, they can contact independent charity Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
