Jobless queues in Stafford fall by almost 30 per cent

THE NUMBER of jobless people in Stafford fell almost 30 per cent compared with a year ago.

Figures from the Office of National Statistics show jobless claims in Stafford fell 29.04 per cent, with a total of 1833 people claimed Jobseekers Allowance in November - a fall of 509 12 months earlier.

Across North Staffordshire, a total of 10439 people claimed Jobseekers' Allowance in November - a fall of 2371 compared to the same month last year.

In Stoke-on-Trent, 6478 people made claims in November (down -16.69% on 12 months ago).

In Staffordshire Moorlands, the number of unemployed fell 24.19 per cent, with a total of 884 people submitted claims in November - a fall of 282 a year ago.

The number of jobless people in Newcastle-under-Lyme fell 13.33 per cent compared with a year ago.

ONS figures show 1833 people claimed Jobseekers Allowance in November - down 282 from a year ago.
