Joint leaders in the Stafford Snooker League

PERKINS Sports and Rangers A both made it two wins to head the Stafford Snooker League division one table after two weeks.

In their second fixtures, Perkins and Rangers both chalked up 4-1 away successes over Universal G and Derrington A respectively.

They have a one point advantage over third place Constitutional B, who also made it two successive victories with a 4-1 home win against Bradley House A. There were first wins for Institute A, 4-1 against visiting Constitutional C, and Woodseaces, with a 3-2 triumph at Rugeley.

In division two, Derrington B have a narrow one point advantage over second place Constitutional D. The former defeated visiting Burton Manor A 4-1, as the Cons got the better of hosts Blymhill A by the same scoreline.

There were opening 3-2 victories for Institute B and Bradley House B at Universal N and Blymhill E respectively.

Top spot in division three is occupied by Derrington R, with two wins. Last week they whitewashed Perkins B 5-0. A point down in second place are fellow unbeaten Institute C, who edged a 3-2 win against Bradley House C.

Getting off the mark were Rangers C and Burton Manor B with respective wins over Blymhill B (4-1) and Blymhill D (3-2).

Highest breaks to date are: Div 1, Rob Wharne (Inst A) 125; Div 2, Tony Forbes (Bradley House B) 34; Div 3, Charlie Swift (Blymhill D) and Kevin Lennard (Rangers C) both 25.
