Following her CBE in the Queen’s New Year’s Honours list earlier this year, health campaigner Julie Bailey has now been named as one of the most powerful women in the country .
The list of the 10 most powerful women in the UK, which was compiled by the Independent was topped by ant-racism campaigner Doreen Lawrence. There are also appearances from journalist Caitlin Moran, Laura Bates – the founder of the Everyday Sexism project and anti-FGM campaigners Leyla Hussein and Nimco Ali.
Bailey set up the group Cure the NHS after concerns over her mother’s care in Stafford Hospital, leading to a public inquiry.
