GENEROUS youngsters from First Berkswich Guides kept quiet to raise £140 for the Donna Louise Children’s Hospice.

The girls from Lion Patrol held a sponsored silence for the whole of their weekly meeting.

Guide Leader Hilary Wilde said the idea had been the girls’ own as part of a Go for It challenge and said she was proud of them for maintaining the silence, especially when everyone else around them was carrying on as normal.

The girls presented the cheque to Natalie Wood of the Donna Louise Children’s Hospice.
