The Women’s Land Army Tribute will be unveiled at the National Memorial Arboretum at Alrewas on October 21.
It honours the work of nearly a quarter of a million young women who served in the Women’s Land Army and Women’s Timber Corps.
Funds for the monument, featuring two bronze figures of a Land Girl and Lumber Jill, have been raised by Staffordshire Women’s Food and Farming Union, who launched their campaign in 2011.
They are inviting former Land Girls and Lumber Jills to the unveiling ceremony.
The event will include a service of dedication followed by tea and cakes. Anyone who would like to attend can register their interest by completing an application form at www.womenslandarmytribute.co.uk.
