STONE’S independent traders are serving up a late night Christmas shopping feast tonight to attract residents to buy local –.
The town’s Totally Locally group is staging its first evening extravaganza in the High Street and at Walton. Independent shops, pubs and restaurants will be open after 5pm and many are giving discounts and special offers and offering refreshments to tonight’s visitors.
Tonight Stone High Street will be closed to traffic for the evening and Stafford Borough Council has offered free parking from 5pm in its town centre car parks. The town’s Rotary club is set to provide music in the High Street and Santa is also expected to pay a visit.
Jill Hood, Stone’s Totally Locally Champion, said: “It’s an experience you can’t have when you shop online.
“In the frenzy of Christmas shopping, when you’re chucking stuff into the trolley like a headless chicken ignoring prices, take a minute to think how much you can save in our local independent stores."
