Lee Evans Stafford gig: comedy fans queue from 6am

Comments (0)

Comedy fans started queueing outside Stafford's Gatehouse theatre from 6am today to snap up tickets for Lee Evans' show in May.

The Gatehouse show is an opportunity for Evans to try out new material for his forthcoming Monsters Arena Tour.

The modern-day Norman Wisdom is used to performing for thousands, including sell-out nights at Wembley Arena.

But on May 10 he will be bringing his comedy to the Gatehouse – humble by size compared to Wembley but with a formidable reputation for hosting the country’s top comics.

Tickets, priced at £25 each, have been limited to just four per buyer because of expected strong demand. When Evans did a warm-up show in the county town in 2011 it sold out in one day.
