STUDENTS eagerly awaiting A Level results day Thursday, August 14, are being reassured not to panic if they don’t get the results they want.
Staffordshire University’s Clearing Centre is using student ambassadors, graduates and staff to promote a wide range of courses designed to equip students for a brighter future.
The Clearing Centre will be operational from 7am until 9pm today and Friday, August 15, and will remain open for business daily, including weekends until August 29.
Anyone with concerns or queries about their grades and their University application is being urged to telephone the Clearing Hotline number on 0800 590 830 or 01782-295900.
Linda Burgess, director of Student Recruitment and Admissions, said: “Today’s prospective students are technically very savvy and some will have done a lot of research about course and destination before picking up the phone.
“Clearing is also the opportunity for mature students and people who haven’t already applied through UCAS to see what opportunities are available to them.
“We want to reassure people we still have degree places across a range of degree awards and there are opportunities including Foundation years and HNDs if students don’t get the grades they’re hoping for.”
Prospective students and their families are invited to visit the University’s Stoke and Stafford campuses to talk in person to subject tutors.
Staffordshire University will also be offering help and advice from Mobile Clearing Clinics located at schools and sixth forms throughout Staffordshire, Shropshire and Cheshire.
