LITTLE Stoke dropped points in the NSSCL Div1 promotion race despite recording an eight wicket home victory against Blythe as they had to bat second.
The visitors won the all important toss and decided to bat meaning the hosts could not claim the maximum of 25 points for winning batting first.
With the bat Blythe suffered and the only batsmen to make a score of note was Peter Finch with 30 as they fell to 141 all out.
Little Stoke bowler Naveed Arif ripped through the visitors batsmen taking 5-37 helped by Peter Turnbull and Daniel Richardson each taking two wickets.
With the bat Little Stoke easily reached the target with opener Richard Adams hitting 40 before Peter Turnbull came in with 78 runs from 59 balls as they reached 142-2 from 27 overs.
They will be rueing not batting first as the gap between them and Modershall was cut to three points although their destiny is still in their hands
Next up they travel to relegation favourites Meir Heath next week before hosting fifth place Cheadle on the final day.
