LITTLE Stoke firsts team fixture was abandoned due to rain, so the focus fell on the seconds North Staffs and South Cheshire Premier B match at home to Silverdale.
The visitors elected to bowl and after claiming two early wickets, Little Stoke hit back with a useful 50 partnership from Alex Kay and Billy Thorley until the latter was caught & bowled by Louis Gwynne on 23.
Kay continued his recent good form going on to reach his second century in just six days.
The hosts eventually posted 208-8 from their 50 overs with Alan Palmer unbeaten on 13 and Kay with an excellent 124 not out from 125 balls.
For the visitors Richard Shenton was on form with impressive figures of 6-92.
In a rain-affected reply Silverdale pressed hard for victory with Greg Bailey (34) and Chris Brookes (33) leading the way.
However, with reduced overs Silverdale could only claim a winning draw as they finished on 177-7 from 32 overs.
In difficult conditions, Alan Palmer was once again the pick of the Little Stoke bowlers with 3-25.
The win leaves the seconds one point from safety with four matches to play.
