ONE mosaic to rule them all is on display in Penkridge as a piece of Tolkien’s Middle-Earth has been created via an art project.

The mosaic, created by residents and groups, has gone on permanent display at Penkridge Library to celebrate the area’s links with the Lord of the Rings author.

The project was the brainchild of artist Mike Reynolds and library development officer Scott Whitehouse.

Penkridge Library then invited residents, school children, groups and young offenders from HMYOI Brinsford to get involved in designing the piece, jointly funded by Staffordshire Library Service, the Prisons Library Service and a £500 donation from County Councillor David Williams’ Local Community Fund.
