FIRE crews closed the M6 motorway this morning while they dealt with a lorry fire between junction 13 and junction 14.
Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service were alerted to the blaze on the northbound carriage at around 4.40am.
One crew from Stafford and one crew from Rising Brook attended the scene.
They used hose reel jets and breathing apparatus to extinguish the flames which were centered around one of the vehicle's rear tyres.
Firefighter Matt Wade said there was considerable damage to the lorry's trailer but no-one was injured.
The motorway was fully re-opened by 6am.
