M6 Stafford fatal crash: woman named by police

A WOMAN  who died after the car in which she was a passenger collided with a road sign at Stafford services on the M6 on June 21 has been named by police.

She was Cristeta Ferrer, aged 59, from Warrington in Cheshire. Mrs Ferrer was a rear seat passenger in the Honda Insight car. 

 The 44-year-old female driver of the vehicle was initially treated at the University Hospital of North Staffordshire for minor injuries but has since been released. A 16-year-old female rear seat passenger has also been released from hospital. 

 The 57-year-old male front seat passenger remains in hospital in a critical, but stable, condition. The investigation into the circumstances of the collision is ongoing.

Police are still appealing for witnesses following the crash,  which happened on the slip road of the southbound M6 Stafford services at around 5:50 am.  Anyone with any information should call 101 quoting Staffordshire Police incident 187 of Saturday June 21.
