Man charged with murder of 83-year-old Bernard Smith in Stafford on Christmas Day yet to enter a plea

A MAN charged with the murder of a Stafford pensioner last month has yet to enter a plea.

Josef Moscicki, 22, of Gorse Ride North, Finchampstead, Wokingham, appeared at Stafford Crown Court this morning, via video link.

Judge Simon Tonking adjourned the case until April 21 and remanded Mosciki in custody.

Mosciki is accused of the murder of 83-year-old Bernard Smith, 83, whose body was found slumped at the junction of Shakespeare Road and Wordsworth Avenue in Highfields in the early hours of Christmas Day, and failing to provide a specimen of breath for analysis.
