HEALTHCARE workers from Stafford Hospital who go the extra mile for their patients will be honoured at a special ceremony on Friday.
The winners of Mid Staffordshire NHS Foundations Trust staff awards scheme, Mid Staffs Stars, will be announced at an evening ceremony at Chase Golf Club in Penkridge.
The award scheme, now in its second year, is nominated by members of the public and colleagues and aims to recognise and reward best practice and individuals and teams who have gone above and beyond their duties to offer outstanding service at both Stafford and Cannock Hospital.
Chief executive Maggie Oldham thanked anyone who had taken the time to nominate teams or individuals they thought were deserving of recognition for their work.
“We are delighted to celebrate their contribution with this special evening,” she said. “We were overwhelmed by the number and standard of nominations, and our thanks must also go to the judges who had a very difficult task.”
The ceremony, sponsored by Stafford and Cannock League of Hospital Friends, System C (a McKesson Company) and Toshiba Medical Systems, will see winners from more than 85 nominations unveiled in the following categories; Improving patient care and experience; Improving patient and staff safety; listening and acting on patient and staff views; Supporting and valuing staff; Improving the way we work; Star student; Star apprentice; Unseen star (for non-frontline staff); Chief executive’s star; Public star (Cannock); Public star (Stafford); and public star (Team).
