ROAD users are advised to expect delays around RAF Cosford this Sunday - but it's all in a good cause.

Up to 2,000 motorcyclists are expected take part in the fourth annual Bike 4 Life event between Shrewsbury and RAF Cosford April 27.

The bikers will leave Meole Brace in Shrewsbury at 11.30 on Sunday morning and will ride to the RAF Museum at Cosford via the A5, M54 and A41.

The 23-mile journey only takes around half an hour but depending on the number of people participating, there could be delays and some congestion along this route.

Emergency Planning Officer for the Highways Agency, Frank Bird said:

“There may be some delays for road users along these routes on Sunday morning, but it shouldn’t be for long and we ask for people’s understanding as it’s a great cause.

“The event raises funds for the Midlands Air Ambulance and the museum. Our advice to drivers is to plan their journeys around the event or use alternative routes if possible around the middle of the day.”
