A MISSING Birmingham man whose disappearance led to a cross-county police appeal was found safe and well by an off-duty Staffordshire Police officer.

Police said they were ‘desperately worried’ when 23-year-old Christopher Killarney from Berwood - who suffers from depression and was last seen by his girlfriend on Monday night - went missing and launched an appeal to find him, indicating that their investigations suggested he might be in the Abbots Bromley area of Staffordshire.

An off-duty Staffordshire police office found Christopher in Cannock Chase on Tuesday evening.

A spokesman for West Midlands Police, who handled the appeal, said Christopher was taken to hospital for treatment, but that it wasn’t thought to be serious.
