A STAFFORDSHIRE police plea for help in finding missing Rugeley man Stephen Greatrix has so far been re-tweeted nearly 130,000 times.

And officers are urging Twitter followers to keep up their efforts - and to keep their eyes peeled for the missing man if they are out and about in the Rugeley and Cannock Chase areas.

"We're still out searching for Stephen with help from the Air Support Unit, Dog Support Unit and Staffordshire Search and Rescue," a police spokeswoman said.

"Thank you so much for all your shares, thanks to you the post has reached nearly 130,000 people so far and we are really grateful to those that have called us with information.

"Please don't hesitate to contact us on 101 if you think you may have seen him."

Mr Greatrix, aged 45, of Chaseside Drive, Rugeley,was last seen at around 2pm on Monday April 21.

Police found his car in a Rugeley car park, close to the town's park.

He is described as white, 5ft 10in tall, of slim build and with short, mousey hair. he has a tanned complexion and green eyes.

He is believed to have been wearing a black long sleeved top and a grey Craghoppers top.
