MODDERSHALL A firsts increased their lead at the top of the Stone and District Premier Division when they hosted Stafford at home.
Stafford batted first and were soon struggling against the bowling attack of Andrew Lightbown 5-4 and Jack Chell 3-21, before losing their last wicket for a total of 56.
Moddershall took to the crease and needed to amass runs quickly as the rain looked set to start.
The home side knocked off the runs required in 11.1 overs for the loss of one wicket with Robert Price hitting 41no and the win takes the A firsts 61 points clear at the top of the league.
Moddershall A seconds travelled to third placed Onneley and Maer in the Stone and District Division 1.
The visitors won the toss and elected to bowl on a difficult wicket, soon wickets started to fall with Dean Tooth 3-24 and Liam Roberts 5-24 taking the main stand.
O & M's old heads, Peter Barnes (33no) and Rajeev Shrikanth (15) put on a frustrating partnership in the middle to low order before finally being dismissed to give O & M a total of 117 all out.
Moddershall lost two early wickets in reply with Dean Tooth and Liam Roberts both out by lbw decisions leaving them on 12-2 off six overs when rain stopped play.
Overs were reduced leaving Moddershall needing 105 off 24 overs to secure the win.
Joe Mason went in at four to partner Basraj (33) and went on to hit a great 62no on a very tricky wicket taking them to the 118 required for the win and 20 points.
The A seconds are now in pole position at the top of the league with Aston five points behind.
