HEALTHCARE regulator Monitor is set to hand its final recommendations on Stafford Hospital to the Secretary of State for Health in the next few days, says Stafford's MP Jeremy Lefroy.
Mr Lefroy told the Newsletter he met with Dr David Bennett, Chief Executive of Monitor - the body overseeing the administration of the Mid Staffordshire Foundation Trust - last night.
“I was grateful that Dr Bennett agreed to meet with me last night. Monitor will be making their final proposals to the Secretary of State in the next few days and I was able to emphasise again to Dr Bennett the importance to Stafford residents of full maternity, paediatric, A&E and critical care services.
"I will also be continuing to make representations to the Secretary of State arguing that Stafford needs these vital services.”
