ORGANISERS of a musical showcase are on the look-out for talented solo artists, choirs and duets.
Staffordshire Festival Sings will run the musical performance for county communities to showcase homegrown talent. The free event, which is staged in conjunction with the Staffordshire Festival of Performing Arts, and aims to bring communities together.
Now in its fourth year the festival will also involve other events during April such as dance, art exhibits and film.
Event organiser Hollie O’Connell said: “Our vision for the event is to bring people together to celebrate local talent and it is a good opportunity to support those trying to make their way in music.
“The Festival of Performing Arts has been a success over its first three years and we’re hoping that this one will be no different. We are excited that we have a lot of variety at the event in terms of the performers that have already signed up so it will appeal to a lot of people.”
Tickets are free and the event will take place at 6.30pm on April 12 at the Mitchell Arts Centre, Hanley.
Confirmed performances include Allsorts Community Choir, The Academy Choir, Tracy O’Rourke, Ruth Washington and a duo called Rebecca and Laura.
