A FRIGHTENED mum fears her home could be a target for thugs after finding bullet holes in two of her windows within weeks of each other.

Julie Baker, who lives in Spinneyfields, says three weeks ago she and her family returned home to find a hole in her bedroom window.

Initially she thought it was just some random vandalism but on April 5 she returned home to find another bullet hole in the French doors of her home and this time the rest of the glass had also shattered. It is thought the shot came from an air gun.

Mrs Baker said she and her family, including husband Matthew and their three children, were now living in fear of it happening again.

But she says the whole situation is a mystery as the family has CCTV cameras on the house – and there is no sign of anyone walking nearby on the days of each shooting.

“It’s just a complete mystery,” said Mrs Baker, 40, who runs a business fitting CCTV.

“We have been through the recordings and we can’t see anyone. The only area is a bush but there is no sign of anyone walking behind it. That might mean the shot would have been taken from a distance.

“We contacted the police but they said if it had been a ball-bearing gun then it wouldn’t have been able to reach from a long distance.

“I am really worried. The first incident seemed random but then it happened again. It has made me paranoid that we are being targeted.

“I feel scared to let my children play outside.”
