WALTON Chasers Orienteering Club took a national title and silver place at the British Night Championships at Tankersley Woods, near Sheffield last week.
Kelvin Dawson managed to overcome the parks complex path system to take first place on the 6.3km M35S course.
On the shorter 3.6 km W50S course Christine Collins finished in an excellent second position.
Other top ten finishes for the Chasers included Ray Collins who took ninth on the 6.3km M55L course.
Also, Jon Howell finished in sixth place and John Robinson tenth on the 6.3km M60L course.
After the excitement of the night before, the rest of the Chasers went over to Lickey Hills for the West Midlands League event.
In difficult conditions the Chasers came away with a haul of top ten positions.
Adam Mardling came away victorious on the 2.4 km orange course with Holly Craig in third and Holly Stodgell sixth.
Chris Boycott kept up the good work as the Chasers chalked up their second win of the day in the 2.6km short green course, Over the same course, Gemma Cairns-Smith came in a respectable tenth place.
On the 3.5km green course, Claire Bushnell finished top Chaser in sixth, just ahead of Ian Turner in seventh and Richard Rodgers in ninth.
Over the 5.3km blue course, Ray Collins took fifth place and Andy Yeates came home in tenth spot.
Finally on the 7.2km brown course, Cath Williams was the only Chaser in ninth position, The next Chasers’ event is on Cannock Chase on Sunday, March 3.
