A BIG cheese in the takeaway business is set to grab a pizza the action in Stafford this weekend by handing out 200 free pizzas to officially mark its grand opening.

Papa John’s opened on Stone Road in Stafford just before Christmas, but owner Tony Singh told the Newsletter he was so pleased with the store’s initial success he wanted to give the people of the county town a pizza party to remember and is urging anyone in town who wants to enjoys a slice to turn up and take part.

“We are particularly excited to have opened this new store in Stafford and are delighted that we have proven to be so popular since opening last week.

“It’s a wonderful site to be located in and one we think many Stafford residents will make use of if our continued success is anything to go by,” he said. “This official event and pizza give-away is a way for us to say thank you to those who have already experienced our ‘Better Ingredients, Better Pizza’ philosophy, which has made us famous across the world.

“But, is also an opportunity for us to welcome those who aren’t familiar with the Papa John’s brand and show them what they’ve been missing.”

The pizza give-away at the new restaurant - which brought a £200,000 investment and 25 new jobs to the area - will start from midday when Mayor of Stafford, Councillor Angela Loughran will cut the ribbon, declare the store officially open and begin the pizza feast.
