WOMENS WORLD DAY OF PRAYER: St Dominic’s Church Stone will hold the service tomorrow at 2pm followed by light refreshments. The service has been prepared by Christian women in Egypt.

The speakers will be Dr Ibraham and Dr Salib. Men are also welcome to attend.

STONE RECORDED MUSIC SOCIETY: Tomorrow evening at 7.30pm in the building behind Walton Community Centre. Diana Hill will narrate The Music that I Care To Hear.

CAR BOOT: at Walton Community Centre Sunday March 16. Starts 8.30am until 12noon. Inside space with table provided £5 outside £4 please provide your own table.

MEDITATION GROUP: meets every Monday evening in St Dominic’s Convent Library. Please arrive in time for a prompt 7.30pm start. This is a Christian group and all people are welcome.

Access is through the large wooden door in Station Road and ring the Convent bell on the left. The format is an opening prayer followed by a short piece of music, a talk from a CD a 20 minute

Meditation then a closing prayer. If people cannot commit to every week that is fine. Just attend when you can. Contact Bernie 01785 749548.

A NIGHT AT THE RACES: Stone Town Mayor invites you to this event on Friday March 14 at 7.30pm at Walton Community Centre, ST15 0EQ. Tickets cost £10 which includes a light Supper. Bar facilities will be available.

Proceeds go to The Mayors Charities which are Katharine House Hospice, Stone and District Stroke Club and Oak Tree Farm Rural Project. Please book through 01785 619740.

CRAFTS AND COLLECTABLES: on Saturday in Stone High Street from 9am onwards.

ST JOHN’S CHURCH: The next coffee morning is at Guide HQ at Westbridge Park from 10am until 12noon. There is a sales table available and any profits go towards Missionary Work and the local church.

Church services are held in Walton Priory Middle School at 10.30am and 6pm.

AGE CONCERN STONE AND DISTRICT: Coffee mornings are in the coffee lounge 15 Station Road on Tuesday and Friday mornings from 9.45am until 11.15am.

Weekly Lunch Club at Bromfield Court is on Thursdays from 11.45am until 1.30pm. There is another luncheon which meets fortnightly at a variety of local pubs. To book

THE GARDENING CLUB OF STONE CHRYSANTHEMUM AND DAHLIA SOCIETY: next meets on Thursday March 13 at 7.45pm in Christ Church Centre. The talk, Woodland Gems is by Dr Andrew Ward of Norwell Nurseries and

STONE LIBRARY: Throughout March there will be an Art Exhibition by Cross Culture on photography.

Monday’s during term time Baby Bounce and Rhyme for Parents Carers babies and toddlers up to 3years of age.

AN APPEAL FROM THE BELFRY AND ST MICHAEL’S RINGERS: New younger recruits are needed to learn the skills of bell ringing. This is an enjoyable hobby and is good exercise.

ST SAVIOURS CHURCH ASTON BY STONE: Wednesdays in Lent: What goes on in the local area? This year a variety of speakers will attend to talk about their organisation.

each Wednesday after a said service of Holy Communion and a short address there follows tea or coffee and questions. The speaker will be Mr Jamie Summerfield talking about his news website.

SOCIAL DANCE: At the newly refurbished St Dominic’s Social Club Station Road on Saturday from 8pm until 11pm. Ballroom, Latin and popular sequence. Cash bar available. Further details

STONE LIONS SPRING STROLL: will be holding their annual fundraising walk for charity, The Spring Stroll is on March 22. The walk starts from the Greyhound Pub Burston and there will be approximately 2 miles and 4 mile routes visiting Sandon Church and Burston Village. If ground conditions are suitable a 6 mile walk visiting Gayton will also be available.

Registration from 9.30am until 11am, cost is £2.50 per adult £1 children. Route instructions will be provided.

The proceeds will be donated to Age Concern Stone and Stone in Bloom.

If required sponsorship forms are available for anyone to use the walk to raise funds for their own charities or for those supported by The Lions.
