AN ARSON attack on a derelict pub in Stone started in a pile of rubbish dumped in the grounds before spreading to the buildings roof.

Firefighters were called to the Robin Hood on Church Street at 9.55pm on Friday to find a rubbish fire outside the pub which had spread to the roof area.
A spokesman for Staffordshire Police confirmed nobody was hurt in the incident but said they were treating the incident as arson and appealing to anyone with any information to call 101 quoting incident number 846 of October 19 or call Crimestoppers anonymously 0800 555 111.
A planning application has been submitted to Stafford Borough Council which could seen the pub converted into a boarding house for international students.
