Artists called to Stafford exhibition

WOULD-BE artists of all ages could be in with a chance of showing off their work at an exhibition in Stafford.

Stafford Borough Council has teamed up with Sustainability Matters and other partners to stage the show, There is No Planet B at St Chad's Church on Feburary 16 to highlight the natural world.  It is the third time the environmental exhibition and competition has been run.

All types of work from residents, such as paintings, clay modelling and poems can be submitted.

During the exhibition there will also be music and drama performances as well as other eco-activities.

The Mayor of Stafford Borough, Councillor Bryan Cross, will open the event and it will run from 10am to 4pm each day up to February 23.

Prizes will be awarded in four categories, including those under seven, 7-11, 12-16 and adult. There will also be a prize for best school display and best student exhibit.

Any schools wanting to take part can take exhibits to the next Eco-Schools Network meeting on January 24, 4.15pm at Sir Graham Balfour High School. Other exhibitors can set up at St Chad's Church from February 15 from10am to 12pm and 1.30-6pm.
