A BUDDING florist from South Staffordshire College has won through to the finals pf a national competition for her creative design work.

Isabel Garbett, 18, will represent the college in the Worldskills National Final at the NEC in November after qualifying at the semi-finals at Tatton Park.
Isabel said she was “thrilled” to get through to the finals and was excited at the prospect of competing in the next round.
“It's going to be very challenging but really fun at the same time and I would encourage other floristry students to go for it, as competitions help you build up your speed, help you advance in your techniques and help you develop your own style,” she said.
Currently studying Level 3 Floristry at South Staffordshire’s Rodbaston Campus, Isabel was given a theme of Hearts and Flowers and had to design and create a free-standing structure which she decorated during the competition within a set time scale.
