BEER-LOVERS in Stafford will be looking to sink a few pints at a beer festival this weekend to commemorate the Titanic’s ill-fated maiden voyage.
The Sun Inn in Stafford, one of Titanic Brewery’s flagship pubs, will be holding a centenary beer festival, and staff at the pub are lining up a raft of entertainment to rival the legendary cruise ship’s.
The beer festival, which starts today and ends on Sunday, will feature live music every day and barbecues on Friday and Saturday.
Steve Aukim, manager of the Sun Inn, said: “We will have the main fleet of eight ales on sale and many more joining the line-up.” Ten pence from every pint sold during the anniversary event will be donated to the Royal National Lifeboat Institution.
Titanic Brewery was founded in Stoke on Trent in 1985 in honour of Captain Edward John Smith who was born in nearby Etruria and went on to command the famous cruise liner.
