A STAFFORD-BASED plastering and drylining contractor has scooped a top national award for its work on a £25million retirement village in Birmingham.
TC Interiors received the top award in the over £1million category at the Federation of Plastering and Drywall Contractors (FPDC) annual awards on the recently completed Pannel Croft Extra Care Village in Newtown Birmingham.
TC Interiors joint managing director Chris Leonard said he was thrilled to receive the award which recognised the complexity of the project, high standards of workmanship and the fact the work was delivered within budget and on time.
The £1.1million contract included plastering, suspended ceilings and rendering throughout the homes and facilities of the 180 one and two bedroom apartments for over-55s requiring care and was completed over 12 months.
“There were many challenges to this contract and our labour force had to work with complex designs,” he said. “However, they met the challenges and produced work of the highest standard.
“The contract was delivered in a tight timescale and has won praise from our client, Keepmoat, and also Extra Care, the end user.”
He said the company, established in 2000 and based at Staffordshire Technology Park, was recognised as one of the largest fastest growing in its market, operating in the commercial, public and residential sectors of the construction industry.
The company has recently completed the contract to finish the interior of the new air traffic control tower at Birmingham Airport as well as the airport’s new 200-room Travelodge.
