A NEW weekly online initiative will give Staffordshire businesses a chance to shout about their services and raise their profiles to a new audience.

Simply Staffordshire, a hand-picked online guide and business network, sharing the very best the county has to offer, has launched Staffordshire Hour, a weekly opportunity for businesses, charities and individuals to advertise their events, businesses, fundraising projects and more to the world, all from the comfort of their own home.
By logging onto social networking site Twitter, every Wednesday evening between 8 and 9pm, and sending a message about their services which includes the hashtag #staffordshirehour, businesses will be able to raise their profile both locally and nationally.
Emily Whitehead, who launched Simply Staffordshire in November 2011 after running an eco-holiday accommodation in North Staffordshire for 7 years, said she was keen to help grow the local economy by celebrating the things the county already had to offer from the independent sector to local people and visitors to the area.
“There is such a wealth of fabulous independent business in Staffordshire and using Twitter to create this weekly Staffordshire Hour event is the perfect way to celebrate events, news, business, charities and people and to support our local economy and community.”
Ms Whitehead is a business mentor for the Bright Sparks Network, Chair of the Staffordshire Peak District Tourism Association and first a mentor, now a member of the awards panel for the Staffordshire Environmental Quality Mark, as well as running her own small business workshops.
