STAFFORD commuters look set to face delays next week as a major route into the town is closed for resurfacing work.

A council spokesman today announced a three-day repair programme starting Monday, to the A34 Redhill Link in Stafford, which will see the south west bound side of the dual carriageway closed to all traffic between Mustang Drive and the Junction 14, M6 Island.
“It is vital that this resurfacing work is done to make the route safer for motorists," he said. “We planned this work during the half-term to minimise disruption as much possible, but obviously this is a busy road and we would ask people to bear with us while this important work is carried out."
During the road closure, traffic will be diverted via the A34 Stone Road and A5013 Eccleshall Road.
