A CALF that found itself up to its neck in the fast flowing waters of the river Sow in Stafford on Sunday was rescued by firefighters using specially made equipment.
Fire and Rescue crews from Stafford, Tamworth and Cannock were sent to the incident in Littleworth after receiving a call from police at 10.24am.
A spokesman for Stafford Fire and rescue said crews freed the calf using animal rescue strops at around 11.15, closing the incident 15 minutes later after leaving the animal in the hands of a farmer and an animal health officer.
