Parliamentary candidate for Cannock Chase Janos Toth responded to accusations by Aidan Burley MP that he was ‘scaremongering’ over the hospital’s future and that he and Cannock Council leader George Adamson had ‘deliberately misquoted’ him.

Mr Toth said: “Instead of bickering about other politicians misquoting him, Aidan Burley should join the campaign to save Cannock Hospital.

“He should put personal vanity behind him and do his job as an MP and stand up for our local hospital,” he said.

“We in the Labour Party are standing up for Cannock Hospital and aren’t complacent about its future.

“Under this Tory-led Government we have seen what has happened to hospitals across the country and we will not be happy until our hospital’s future is confirmed.

“Until that point I will fight tooth and nail to secure Cannock Hospital’s future,” said Mr Toth.

“Instead of being complacent Aidan Burley should join me in campaigning to save our hospital.”
