FIREFIGHTERS had to rescue the trapped occupant of a car that had left the road and flipped onto its roof after an accident in Great Haywood on Tuesday.
Firefighters and rescue teams from Stafford and Rugeley attended the scene at Farley Corner where a car had left the carriageway and was upside down.
One casualty was already out of the car by the time emergency teams arrived, but the second occupant had to be freed before being airlifted to Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham with head and chest injuries but otherwise stable.
The first casualty was treated for minor injuries before being taken to Stafford Hospital.
