Dog walkers attacked by motorists in Salt

A MAN threw a branch at a pensioner couple while they walked their dogs in Salt.

Generic Online News 2The branch hit the 69-year-old woman, who received hospital treatment for a head injury, Staffordshire Police have said.

The couple were also verbally abused by the man, and another man who was travelling in the same vehicle.

A Staffordshire Police spokeswoman said: “At approximately 3pm on August 20 an elderly couple were walking their three Labrador dogs along Salt Lane - a narrow lane without a footpath.

“As a vehicle approached, they moved to the edge of the road to let it pass.

“The vehicle stopped and the driver and passenger got out of the vehicle and were verbally abusive to the couple.

“One of the men picked up a two foot branch and threw it at the couple.”

The two men then got back into the vehicle, described as a red Suzuki-type, and drove off.

One man is described as white, in his mid 20s, approximately 5'4" tall and of a large build with very short hair. The other man is described as white, 35-40 years, 5'10" and of a proportionate build with short dark brown hair.
