AN ELDERLY female driver who fell ill at the wheel of her car was at the centre of a serious collision in Stafford today.
Police were called to the incident at the exit slip road of the Tesco Extra on Newport Road at about 1pm.
Three vehicles were involved in the crash, a black Nissan, a red Suzuki and a blue Ford Focus.
A police spokesman said the elderly driver of the red Suzuki had fallen ill at the wheel and had been taken to University Hospitals North Staffordshire for treatment.
The other drivers did not sustain any injuries.
Anyone who witnessed the collision is asked to contact Sgt Matt Walker on 101 quoting incident number 265 of May 1st.
