VILLAGE halls in Staffordshire could be under threat unless more help is given to volunteers who run them.
There are 200 halls across the county, including several within Stafford Borough, providing an essential hub for the community.
But volunteer committee members are struggling with red tape, loss of funding and the rising needs of people who use them.
Many rely on the Rual Community Action Network, which provides support to volunteers but the organisation is facing cuts to its own budgets and increasing demands for services, meaning it is struggling to help.
The Community Council of Stafford and the Rural Community Action Network fear it could spell disaster for rural communities.
