First glimpse of Penkridge independent living scheme

RESIDENTS have had the first glimpse of a new state-of-the-art independent living scheme in Penkridge.

Pencric is being built on the site of the old Silverdene care home in Tildesley Close and will provide apartments and on site care for older people.

The development will boast 82 one

and two-bedroom apartments available for sale, rent or shared ownershipto people aged over 55 or young people with a care need.

It will also include a cafe, restaurant, hair and beauty salon and gym for use by residents and the community.

Pencric is being built by Housing Plus, along with funding from the Homes and

Communities Agency (HCA), South Staffordshire Council and Staffordshire County Council.

A preview event for people interested in living at Pencric, which is set to be completed next year, was due to take place yesterday.
