The Pad is now in place at the back of the George Inn in Castle Street, as part of a joint project with West Midlands Ambulance Service and Eccleshall’s Community First Responders, and can be used by residents if somebody suffers a cardiac arrest.

On dialling 999 for an ambulance the caller is given the code to open the cabinet and will be told through how to use the device if needed.

A second PAD is set to be installed this month outside The Star Inn at Copmere, a hotspot for walkers and cyclist in the summer.
