FROGMEN who emerged from the murky depths of a Stafford river today made a splash with passers by who wondered what they were up to.
Rumours abounded in the Newsletter office and a phalanx of fleet-footed reporters frog marched over to Victoria Park to find out what the divers were fishing for.
Workers from Staffordshire County Council slipped into wet suits and diving gear to clear the area of the River Sow near Victoria Bridge, where repair work is ongoing.
Pulling out a variety of traffic cones, road markings, wheel hubs and bicycle handlebars, workers cleared the area before diving back into the depths from which they came.
