A GNOSALL man has been arrested on suspicion of involvement in a cock-fighting ring.

Officers from Staffordshire Police executed a search warrant at a home in the village just before 7.30am on Thursday taking a 37-year-old into custody for questioning on suspicion of using cockerels for cock fighting, an offence under the Animal Welfare Act.
A spokesman for the police said: “A joint investigation is underway by officers and colleagues from the RSPCA, who seized a number of cockerels from the address.”
He said the man had been released on police bail pending further inquiries.
