POLICE are hunting arsonists who torched a stable block in Gnosall in the early hours of Monday morning.

A police spokesman said that it would cost several thousands of pounds to rebuild the stables on Lowfield Lane which burnt down in the early hours of Monday morning.
“We received a call in the early hours of Monday morning from our colleagues at the fire service.” She said subsequent enquiries suggested offenders entered the field shortly before 11pm setting alight to the stable block - which was filled with hay – and copmpletely gutting it.
Fire engines from Gnosall and Stafford attended the incident along with a water carrier from neighbouring Cannock.
The fire service confirmed that no people or animals were hurt in the incident.
A spokesman for the fire service said: “Police have been informed as we believe it was a deliberate fire.” Police are appealing to anyone with any information or who saw anyone or anything suspicious to get in touch by calling Staffordshire police on 101 and quoting incident number 3 on April 9 or by calling crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
