Following requests from parishioners, Gnosall Parish Council applied for and received funding from Stafford Borough Council to help with the cost of installation of steps and a handrail from the village’s allotment car park up to the railway line.

A spokesman from the parish council said: “This project has been highly praised by many local people and now nicely links the newly created boardwalk which goes across the Acres site from Brookhouse Road to the allotments, up to the railway line.”

She said the borough council’s funding contribution was part of its commitment to promoting more sustainable communities and lifestyles and promoting green transport like cycling and walking, more active lifestyles, access to green space and the protection of the environment.
