GRITTING crews hit Staffordshire's roads in the early hours of the morning today to ensure the roads remained safe for drivers.
Teams from Staffordshire County Council gritted roads in the Staffordshire Moorlands as temperatures dropped across the county.
Drivers are advised to take extra care on the roads even where they have been gritted.
A county council spokesman said: "The council’s “winter decision makers” will decide this afternoon if gritting crews need to be on standby for this evening."
