THE HEAD of the team tasked with reviewing troubled Stafford Hospital’s finances has announced he will attend tomorrow’s meeting of the Stafford Hospital Working Group.
The group, led by Stafford MP Jeremy Lefroy, was set up to engage with healthcare regulator Monitor as they attempt to resolve the financial problems at Mid Staffordshire NHS Foundation Trust.
Mr Lefroy said: “I am very pleased that the head of the Monitor team will be attending tomorrow’s meeting.
“It is vital that the working group is able to work with the them and ensure that the views of the local community are put to them,” he said. “I am determined that tomorrow night will not be a one-off meeting and will instead be the start of a strong working relationship.”
Mr Lefroy met with Monitor chief executive David Bennett last week to ask him to ensure the team engaged completely with the work of the group.
The meeting is set to be held at Trinity Church, Stafford, tomorrow night at 4.30pm.
