EXCEPTIONAL staff within the mental health services have been honoured as NHS heroes.
NHS Heroes is a national scheme to celebrate the work that health staff carry out every day.
Nominations were invited from patients, friends, families, colleagues and professional peers, and both clinical and non-clinical staff were eligible.
A number of staff were given awards for their efforts, including Dave Banks, a mental health support worker for South Staffordshire and Shropshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust.
He set up a sports club for service users, raising cash, sourcing venues and equipment and persuading service users to take part. He is pictured with Neil Carr, chief executive of South Staffordshire and Shropshire Healthcare Foundation Trust.
