YOUNG wildlife enthusiasts and junior science boffins are all contributing to life at Marshbrook First School in Penkridge.
Parents in the village looking for somewhere to send their youngsters will have the chance to witness life at the school first-hand, visiting classrooms and meeting staff and governors, at an open day on Wednesday, October 24 between 9.30am and 10.30am and 11am and noon.
Kids from the school recently started off their Autumn Topic on a woodland walk at Birches Valley in Rugeley, learning the woodland habits of a variety of creatures, hunting for mini-beasts and insects and building a home for a hibernating hedgehog.
Meanwhile, kids from the school’s Science Club – an after-school group attended by the children and their parents – have been exploring colour through a range of different experiments.
At a weekly celebration assembly, Star Status awards are presented to children who have tried their best in class, for excellent work, good behaviour or any other outstanding contributions toward school life.
